This article is about a level in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. For a level in Donkey Kong Land 2 of the same name, see Chain Link Chamber (Donkey Kong Land 2).

Template:DKClevelbox Chain Link Chamber is the thirty-second level of the game Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. It is also the fifth area of K. Rool's Keep.

This castle level is the least hectic of the bunch, as there is nothing in it that forces the Kongs to keep moving. But because it's one of the final levels, it's still long and dangerous. Throughout the level, the Kongs will have to climb dozens of chains as they make their way up the dark dungeon. To make matters worst, though, Klingers are found in many areas, and they can be quite a hazard in large groups. Zingers also fly around the chains, and create a serious and hard obstacle to avoid. Appearing alongside these enemies are Klobbers, Krooks, Kutlass, Kannons, and Mini-Neckys.

Several Zingers around Dixie Kong

From the start of the level, the monkeys must climb across a few chains. There are a few Klingers sliding along these chains, though, and they must be avoided at all costs. After this, the Kongs must climb up a longer rope and enter a large chamber of chains. Once they maneuver around the area and avoid all the Klingers lurking about, they have to jump up many chains in the northeast part of the area and dodge several Zingers in their way. Then, the Kongs will have to climb straight up one long rope, while avoiding Krooks hiding in the alcoves nearby, who will throw their sharp hooks at them. Soon, the monkeys will come up to a fork-in-the-road. They can go either left or right, although both sides take them to the same exact point. On the east side, they have to shoot up the area through a few barrels, while on the west side, they must climb up several chains and avoid some Zingers. After choosing a path and completing the obstacles, the heroes must climb up another long chain and enter a large area where they will encounter several Zingers. They will have to move around the foes and continue upwards, only to meet even more Zingers. They Kongs must dodge them all and find the Star Barrel in an alcove to the left.

From that point, the monkeys must keep going up the chains and watch out for Klobbers charging at them. After that, there is another fork-in-the-road that the Kongs must get through. They can go to the left route, where they will have to climb up a long chain and avoid some Mini Neckies, or they may take the right route, where they must jump up some chains and also avoid a pair of Zingers. Once they get through this part, they should continue upwards and enter another chamber filed with pesky Zingers. After they maneuver around all the enemies, the must climb up two chains. As they climb up, there will be two Kannons shooting at them. They will have to move back and fourth to each chain to dodge the falling kannonballs. Once at the top of this chain, the Kongs must climb up some more chains and soon have to face their biggest challenge yet. Eventually, the monkeys will find a pair of Zingers chasing them, and they have to hop up many chains as fast as they can. Soon, they will get to the top of this chain, and have to hop down another chain, still having a couple of Zingers chasing them. The heroes must continue through the level with the foes on their tails for a while longer, until they finally begin to climb a separate rope. When they climb this, Mini Neckies will be swooping down at them, so they have to act fast. Soon, the group will climb up one of the last chains and watch out for the life sucking Klobber hidden in an alcove. At the top of this chain, they will find the End of Level Target, and it will allow them to get out of the level when bounced on.

Bonus Level(s)

  • Near the beginning of the level, the heroes will meet several Krooks, who will try to hit them with their hooks. Once they get to the third Krook, the monkeys must defeat him and avoid a Klobber in the alcove behind them. They should walk through the opening to find a kannonball, which they need to pick up and carry to the alcove southeast of where they are. After beating another Krook, the Kongs must load up the cannon with the ball and get inside of it to enter the Bonus Level. Here, they must climb across a chain cluttered with Zingers on it. After jumping over the pests, they will have to hop up some chains to the next floor. They have to repeat the process, avoid a few Zingers, and climb up some hooks a couple more times. Once at the top of the stage, they can grab the Kremkoin.
  • After the heroes pass the two Kannons shooting at them, they must go to the next chain and jump to the left wall, right in the bottom. They will go through it and travel up to the two Kannons. After defeating them, the Kongs can enter a hidden entryway into the Bonus Level. In this bonus, they must use several Rotatable Barrels to shoot themselves up to the Kremkoin. They will have to watch their aim, though, as there is little time, and the barrels are moving fast.

DK Coin

When climbing the two chains shortly after the Star Barrel, Kannons will be shooting kannonballs at the Kongs. At this point, the monkeys should spy a lone banana and jump to the right. They will go right through the wall, and find the DK Coin.

Golden Feather (Game Boy Advance version only)

Near the end of the level, the monkeys will be chased by a few Zingers. As they jump up the hooks to get away, they will see the Golden Feather in a small alcove. They must jump up and grab it.

Photograph (Game Boy Advance version only)

To find the photograph, exclusively found in the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2, the heroes will have to search around the beginning of the level. Soon, they will find a Klinger with a photograph over his head. If the Kongs use their Team-up move and throw a monkeys at him, the Klinger will be defeated, and the Kongs will be given the photograph. This will help fill in their scrapbook.

K-O-N-G Letters

  • K: At the very start, in an alcove at the bottom of the level. It can be reached by climbing down a long vertical rope.
  • O: There are two in Chain Link Chamber. After a Zinger swarm and Auto-Fire Barrels is a symmetrical area. There is an aloft alcove on both sides with the letter O. If either "O" is collected, the other disappears.
  • N: In a square alcove left of the DK Coin.
  • G: After the End of Level Target is a ledge. The Kongs must team-up to reach it. Above it is the letter G.
