Template:Level Gusty Glade is the twenty-fifth level of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. It is the third area of Gloomy Gulch.

Although taking place in an eerie forest, this level has strong gusts of wind that can push the Kongs into abysses. Sometimes, the wind can be tricky and change directions suddenly, so the monkeys must watch their footing. To make things a little easier, Rattly the Rattlesnake can be found in this stage, but is hidden behind a high ledge right at the beginning of the level. Enemies here include,Klampons, Kannons, Neeks, Spinys, Click-Clacks and Flitters, as well as Kutlass, who only appears in Donkey Kong Country 2's version of Gusty Glade.

It should also be noted that this is the only level in Donkey Kong Land 2 that is almost entirely the same as Donkey Kong Country 2's version of the stage. Although some enemies or items may have been excluded or moved, the layout remains very similar. Even though the layout is alike in both games, however, some Bonus Levels and other secrets are still hidden in distinct places.

Level Layout

Donkey Kong Country 2/Donkey Kong Land 2

When the Kongs begin their quest through this level, they must travel east or climb up the ledge behind them to grab Rattly. As they move through the strange forest, they need to jump up a big ledge using the help of the wind, and cross a large abyss after that. They are able to grab a Banana Coin as they get across this gap. From after that gap, the monkeys must defeat a few enemies and soon cross another giant abyss. On the other side of it, they'll have to hop over a small gap and bounce off of some foes on small platforms. After beating the several Neeks and Klampons on these platforms, the heroes must jump over another large gap and defeat some more enemies. From there, they need to leap up to a hook and get on top of a high ledge with it. Right after this, the monkeys will pass the No Animal Sign, causing Rattly to disappear if they got him. Once he is gone, they must hop into a barrel and hit the Star Barrel.

From that point, the heroes must shoot across an abyss and continue east. Here, they need to use a hook to get up a high ledge, and then defeat a few more enemies. They will have to cross two gaps after that. One of them has too Zingers in the center of it, so the monkeys should be cautious. Once they get to a cannon, they must get over a very large gap, using a few hooks. However, the wind is switching back and fourth, so they must watch their timing on when they jump, or else be blown off course. After that, the Kongs need to trudge through the wind, and beat a nearby Kannon on the way. Eventually, the monkeys will get into a barrel and shoot to the following barrels. But, again, the wind is tricky, and can blow them away from their destination. When they reach land again, they must drop down a big ledge and cross a few abysses with the wind's help. Soon, they will get into a barrel and try to blast to the other barrels. As before, they wind is tricky, and they m=need to be careful on their timing. After that, the group will finally hit the Ending Pad.

Secrets

Donkey Kong Country 2

Bonus Level(s)

Right before the heroes pass the No Animal Sign, they must look up and notice a Bonus Barrel above their heads. They should use Rattly or a Team Up move to reach it, and then begin the Bonus Level. Here, they need to bounce across several Flitters to get across an abyss and to a Kremkoin.

Similar to Donkey Kong Land's second Bonus Level, the Kongs must uncover a kannonball from inside a treasure chest, which is not long after the Star Barrel. Then, they need to carry it across two abysses and throw it into a cannon. When they do this, they must walk into the cannon and be shot to the Bonus Level. Here, they have to shoot through a barrel a few times to collect several stars. When they are all obtained, the Kremkoin will appear nearby.

DK Coin

After the last Kannon in the level, the monkeys will have to cross a large gap. They should see the DK Coin while they cross it, but it's too high to reach with a normal jump. So, they must go back to the Kannon and bounce off of one of the barrels it shoots over that abyss to reach the coin.

Golden Feather (GBA Only)

At the very end of the level, the Kongs should pass up the Ending Pad and try to jump up the high ledge after it. They should find a hidden hook, and then hop up to the very top, where they'll grab the Golden Feather.

Photograph (GBA Only)

At the beginning of the level, the heroes should use their Team-up move and throw a monkey onto the ledge behind them. Both monkeys will find themselves in a hidden area, where they will find Rattly's crate. The Kongs will need to release the rattlesnake from his crate and move to the left part of the area. Looking up, they will see a photograph in the air. With Rattly, the group should bounce up to the photograph. Once the picture is collected, it will be added into the Kongs' scrapbook.

Donkey Kong Land 2

Bonus Level(s)

After passing the section in the beginning of the level where the monkeys must bounce across several platforms, they will have to cross a gap will the help of a hook. Instead of getting up the ledge to the right, though, they should drop down and follow the banana trail. If they do this, they'll land right into the Bonus Barrel and it's Bonus Level. In the special level, they must collect a few stars scattered around the area. Once all the stars are obtained, the Krekoin will appear at the end of the Bonus Area.

After finding the letter N, the group will spy a Kannonball lying around. They must pick it up and carry it along the path, until they find a cannon. They must simply put the ball in this and walk it to be shot into the Bonus Level. Here, they have to defeat several enemies through the eerie forest. Once all the baddies are beat, the Kremkoin will appear to the far east side of the area.

DK Coin

When the Kongs are on the main path near the end of the level, they will find a Kannon. After that, they will shoot through a few barrels, and eventually run right into the DK Coin.
