Screech is a dark brown parrot with red tail feathers and a white beak and talons. He is slightly larger than Squawks. Screech has big yellow eyes with two small pupils, and has three claws on each talon. Screech's wings are red at the tip.
History
Screech has an identical role in both Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. In both games, during the second half of Screech's Sprint, the Kongs must enter an Animal Barrel to transform into Squawks, who must race against Screech. Like traditional races, Squawks's objective is to get in first place. He must fly between brambles and dodge Zingers as he makes his way to the finish line. The race ends when either Screech of Squawks crosses the line first. If Squawks ends up in last place, the Kongs lose a life and must restart the race.
In the ending's Cast of Characters, Screech is categorized under Lazy Landlubbers.
