Hatopops[1], also called Cheep Cheeps[2], are green, penguin-like birds that appear in Super Mario Sunshine. Their name is likely derived from hato, the Japanese name for pigeons and doves, and the popping action they perform. They are only found in Noki Bay. They are hidden in wall indents with no indication that they are there (barring a question mark showing up within the wall if the player tilts the camera properly).
