They appear in two games: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. Roller Coasters can be considered the successors of the Mine Carts from Donkey Kong Country. Klanks ride these vehicles in some of the amusement park stages.

Roller Coasters appear in three levels of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. In Target Terror, Diddy and Dixie have to frequently hop between Roller Coasters before it falls into a pit. Roller Coasters also appear in Rickety Race, where the Kongs must race and defeat several Klanks. Roller Coasters make their last appearance is in Haunted Hall, where the Kongs ride on a Roller Coaster during a pursuit from the Kackles.
