The '''Bottom of the Well''' (Japanese: 井戸の下 ''Bottom of the Well'') is the smallest location of the [[Luigi's Mansion (place)|mansion]] in ''[[Luigi's Mansion]]'', though it technically is not part of the mansion itself. It is cleared in the third Area.
The '''Bottom of the Well''' is the smallest room within the vicinity of the [[Luigi's Mansion (location)|mansion]] in ''[[Luigi's Mansion]]'' and its [[Luigi's Mansion (Nintendo 3DS)|Nintendo 3DS version]]. It can be accessed from climbing down a [[ladder]] inside the well in the [[Courtyard (Luigi's Mansion)|Courtyard]]. The area is very restricted, as Luigi can only go to the right where the hidden side of a lion statue is, from where the [[Secret Altar]] can be seen. There is only one [[Ghost (Luigi's Mansion series)|ghost]], a [[Ceiling Surprise]], or a [[Purple Bomber]] in the PAL and Nintendo 3DS versions' Hidden Mansion.


In this location, [[Luigi]] peers through the mouth of a stone lion into a [[Secret Altar|small room]], where he sees [[Mario]] trapped in a painting in the [[Secret Altar]]. After Luigi looks through the lion, a [[Ceiling Surprise]] (a [[Purple Bomber]] in the PAL Hidden Mansion) attacks. After Luigi captures the ghost, the [[Key]] to the [[Rec Room]] appears.

The Bottom of the Well is the smallest room within the vicinity of the mansion in Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS version. It can be accessed from climbing down a ladder inside the well in the Courtyard. The area is very restricted, as Luigi can only go to the right where the hidden side of a lion statue is, from where the Secret Altar can be seen. There is only one ghost, a Ceiling Surprise, or a Purple Bomber in the PAL and Nintendo 3DS versions' Hidden Mansion.
