(I don't think it makes sense to mention the Japanese text of the sign first. This is an English wiki, after all. Additionally, the paragraph got a bit too large so I split it where it made sense to)

Sign, Super Mario Sunshine

The Sand Cabana, also referred to as the Surf Shack,[1] is a small bar found on the east side of Gelato Beach in Super Mario Sunshine, directly in front of the Shine Tower. It is looked after by a local Pianta, and it features a rack of colorful surfboards in front of it. On top of the building is a sign with wooden letters in a fictional writing system also used elsewhere on Isle Delfino.[2] The sign translates to "Bar Gelato". In the original Japanese version, it instead translates to "Bar Mamma", matching the Japanese name for the level, "Mamma Beach". Additionally, the first word is placed at the top center instead of in the top left. This version of the sign can still be seen in English-language promotional material.

The Sand Cabana has a role only in Red Coins in the Coral Reef, in which Mario must travel to the inside of it to retrieve whatever type of fruit a Yoshi happens to be craving; the three fruits laid out on a table inside the hut include a pineapple, a papaya, and bananas. A blue coin is hidden on the ceiling of the hut, amidst four regular coins, although only during certain episodes. If Mario uses the Squirt Nozzle to spray the cash register, he will find a 1-Up Mushroom. To the right of the hut is a nozzle box containing the Hover Nozzle, and to the left is the sunglasses vendor, who rewards Mario with sunglasses and a tropical shirt when spoken to. Depending on the episode, a number of Dune Buds may also be scattered at intervals around the Sand Cabana.
