The Ultra Boots are the most powerful boots in the Paper Mario series found in Toad Town Tunnels in Paper Mario and in Riverside Station in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. When Mario is wearing the Ultra Boots, his Jump attack delivers three damage per jump to a defenseless enemy (while his normal Boots only deal one damage). They also enable Mario to use a powerful jump move, which creates a new technique in solving puzzles. Obtaining these boots will replace the Super Boots.

In Paper Mario, the Ultra Boots allow Mario to do a Tornado Jump, an ability that allows him to break blocks far above his normal jumping range. The move can also be used to break ice. The boots can be found in the Toad Town Tunnels. They are in a chest past spikes (which Mario can ride over with Lakilester), a maze pathway with several invisible blocks, and a collection of Spinies and Dark Koopas. They permanently replace the Spin Jump.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the Ultra Boots allow Mario to do a Spring Jump, letting him grab onto pipes and bars he cannot normally reach. Unlike in Paper Mario, after acquiring these boots, Mario still retains his Spin Jump. Mario can get them in Riverside Station with the Excess Express train. Luigi's special ability in Super Paper Mario is similar to the Ultra Boots' power in this game.

Trivia

• In the Japanese version of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, holding when the player doesn't have the Ultra Boots prevents Mario from moving.
• When the Ultra Boots are found in Riverside Station, the message that shows up is grammatically incorrect, reading, "You got an Ultra Boots!" The same occurs when the player obtains the Super Boots. This was corrected in the Switch remake, with "an" omitted from the message.
• Although Paper Mario has the recurring theme of using the upgrade obtained in a room in order to exit that room, Mario can instead just jump from the raised platform in front of the chest to break the block and release the spring, rather than using the Tornado Jump to accomplish the same thing.
