Throwback Throwdown Speed Run is the second mission of the Boss Blitz Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and its Nintendo Switch port. The mission is only made available if the player collected the Comet Medal from the previous mission and once the Prankster Comet is in orbit.

Mission[edit]

The player is given five minutes to defeat all five bosses once more. The bosses' tactics and methods of defeating them remain the same, however, there are no + Clocks to increase the time limit and the Checkpoint Flag and Lumalee before Bouldergeist are absent. There is a Life Mushroom under King Kaliente's planet. If the player can defeat the black Dino Piranha before the timer runs out, it will stop and the player will be rewarded with the Power Star.
