Yoshi Bomb (referred to as simply Bomb[1] and Hip Drop[2] in Super Smash Bros.) is Yoshi's down special move in the Super Smash Bros. series. Based on the Ground Pound, a move introduced in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, when used Yoshi leaps into the air and pounds the ground to attack opponents beneath him; he can also pound the ground from any point when used in the air. When he lands the attack produces stars on both sides of Yoshi that also deal damage. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the attack's startup when used on the ground also hits opponents, leading into the actual attack.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, this move has two unlockable variants. The first is Star Bomb, which deals a weaker ground pound but the stars produced afterward are stronger, larger, and fly farther. The second is Crushing Bomb, which deals a slower but more powerful ground pound that lacks the stars.
