- —Recruit Report, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park
Larry's Showdown! is a course in Shining Falls in Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park. It is unlocked after defeating the Koopalings in Bellabel Park after they steal the large Bellabel Flower. It is a variation of the course The Midway Trial: Hop to It. This course houses one Bellabel Flower and has a difficulty of two stars.
Layout[edit]
The course starts with Larry on top of a row of four ? Blocks. After that, the player, Captain Toad, and the Recruit Poplin enter the screen and face him to retrieve one of the seven Bellabel Flowers that he stole. After the player presses on the last dialogue, he proceeds to transform into his Wonder form using Bowser's Wonder power. This puts the course in a Wonder Effect, creating an assortment blue jewel blocks and Cross Bob-ombs. He then teleports into the top-right of the screen.
The course features a large amount of blue jewel blocks that the player must traverse. Cross Bob-ombs periodically spawn in place of jewel blocks.
After that, there is a corridor leading up to the boss fight. This corridor contains a Checkpoint Flag. After that, there will be a Plucky that will throw a ? Capsule containing an Elephant Fruit. After the player reaches the end of the corridor, there is a column of two large jewel blocks in the ground that are required to be ground pounded in order to progress. Once the jewel blocks are destroyed, the player is able to fall into the arena where Larry is fought.
Larry proceeds to speak, commenting on the amount of time it took for the player to reach him. After that, the battle begins.
Larry creates an assortment of blue jewel blocks at the bottom of the arena and pink jewel blocks at the top of the arena. He then encases himself inside a pink jewel block. Larry will periodically stomp in his jewel block, causing blue jewel blocks to go upward and pink jewel blocks to go downward. If Larry reaches the bottom of the screen before he is damaged, he teleports back to the top, continuing to be inside a jewel block. Once the player damages him by attacking the jewel block he is encased inside, all jewel blocks will break. Larry then teleports to the top of the screen, once again encased in a jewel block. To the left and right of him are a row of blue jewel blocks. The sides of the arena are lined with crystalline Fire Knuckles that must be climbed in order to attack him at the top. After he is hit again, he reverts to his previous attack pattern, now having spikes on his jewel block. However, once he is hit, he instead teleports to a different area of the arena and spawns some Cross Bob-ombs. After he is hit there, he creates crystalline Fire Knuckles once again. When he is hit again, a Plucky briefly appears to drop a ? Capsule containing an Elephant Fruit. Afterwards, Larry uses his starting attack pattern, now requiring three hits.
After the last hit, Larry will return to his normal form. He will then jump off-screen.
Then, the Recruit Poplin and Captain Toad will walk in and a Bellabel Flower will appear at the center of the screen to collect.
Hidden Character Blocks[edit]
- A Blue Yoshi Hidden Character Block can be found at the start of the vertical section, on the far right, 4 blocks above the ground. It contains a flower coin.
- A Toadette Hidden Character Block can be found in the area before Larry is fought. It contains a flower coin.
