The Shy Guy Galleon[1] is a pirate ship in Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Mario Kart Wii. Its mast features a pastiche of the Jolly Roger commonly used by pirates, with a Shy Guy mask in the center instead of a skull. It appears in the background of Shy Guy Beach and it is staffed with Pirate Guys. In Mario Kart: Super Circuit, it steadily circles the track and occasionally launches cannonballs that disappear in a puff of smoke when they hit the track. If the cannonball hits a racer, they lose some of their coins. In Mario Kart Wii, the Shy Guy Galleon stays moored on one side of the track. It again launches cannonballs at the racers, but here, the cannonballs remain stuck in the ground after landing. They then begin blinking and, after a few seconds, blow up with a big explosion.
