Makeshift surfboards[1] are platforms in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its reissue. They closely resemble the log-based teeter-totters, but they are only a single segment long, like Spinning Logs. They appear floating in wavy lava in Bigger Boo's Fort and Tap-Tap The Red Nose's Fort. Here, tilting them with the Yoshi's weight is used to make the player travel safely across the lava in the same direction. Vertical ones appear in The Potted Ghost's Castle, where they simply bob in place.
