Fortress Keys are key items found in Paper Mario. They are only used to open doors in the Koopa Bros. Fortress. Four are scattered throughout the area and are needed to progress. The Koopa Bros. hid some of the keys behind bars and left others to be guarded by enemies.

Locations[edit]

  • In the entrance scene, guarded by a Koopa Troopa. Mario must defeat the Koopa Troopa to open the door to the next scene.
  • On the west end of the basement. Mario must unlock the basement by lowering the stairs on the first floor, by defeating a Koopa Troopa and using the ! Switch revealed.
  • Locked behind bars on the first floor. Mario must get it by blasting the wall with Bombette.
