First appearance Super Mario Bros. Wonder (2023)

Downpour Clouds[1] are a type of Semisolid Platform appearing in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. They follow a cycle, releasing water for approximately five seconds before returning to idle for approximately three seconds. This cycle also induces a switch from an angry to a neutral expression, similar to Rotating Blocks containing items. Downpour Clouds do not release water as droplets but as waterfalls that the player can swim through.

Downpour Clouds are introduced in Downpour Uproar, where swimming through their waterfalls is necessary to access Warp Pipes and Wow Buds. They later reappear in Search Party An Empty Park? where Wow Buds need to be triggered to create them. In this level, Downpour Clouds are constantly releasing water and move back and forth horizontally.
