Welcome to the Flower Kingdom! is the first course of Pipe-Rock Plateau, and subsequently, the first course of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. It is unlocked from the beginning of the game, and its completion unlocks Piranha Plants on Parade. It has a difficulty of one star and houses two Wonder Seeds.[1]

Layout

The level takes place in a grassy field with pipes, some of which sprout water, and sleeping Goombas. Mario starts in front of a large Wonder Flower-shaped bush. By passing a tulip-like plant, the player can summon Brick Blocks that lead on top of a tree with coins and flower coins. A ? Block afterwards contains an Elephant Fruit, introducing players to the power-up for the first time. Elephant Mario can use his trunk to destroy brick blocks as well as fill his trunk with water using the nearby fountains. After going down a slope, Mario will reach a Checkpoint Flag, where he can go inside a sideways pipe immediately after to find an interactive tulip inside.[1]

After going through some straightaways, several pipes will suddenly spawn from the ground, lifting Mario into the air, and a Wonder Flower will appear. Touching a Wonder Flower will trigger the level's Wonder Effect, where all of the pipes will gain eyes and start moving up and down. A sideways pipe later on will also grow eyes when Mario steps on it, and will start squirming along the ground like a worm, allowing Mario to reach higher places when its body is folded. The squirming pipe will eventually slither down an abyss and its "head" will pop out in the foreground, which can be reached by entering the other end left in the main plane. A Wonder Seed can be found on top of a fountain, ending the Wonder Effect. After that is the Goal Pole, in which the top can be reached by passing an interactive tulip to raise some pipes. After grabbing the Goal Pole, the second Wonder Seed is obtained.[1]

10-Flower Coins

  • 10-Flower Coin 1: Found underneath the ? Block with the first Elephant Fruit. The player should use Elephant Mario's trunk to break the Brick Blocks enclosing it.[1]
  • 10-Flower Coin 2: Found on top of a tree before an incline that can be reached by jumping on top of it.[1]
  • 10-Flower Coin 3: During the Wonder Effect, the player should jump off the squirming sideways pipe when it's at its highest to reach the 10-Flower Coin which is otherwise too high to reach.[1]
