Spinning Logs are a special type of platform found in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. These platforms are pink logs that will stay still for a while and then start spinning wildly. While one is spinning, it can throw a Yoshi in many directions, depending on how he touches it. This acts as a double-edged sword, as it could give the Yoshi a boost to his Flutter Jump or send him falling into a pit. This works similarly to one of the types of Rotary Lifts from Super Mario Bros. 3.
