"Kannon's Klanking (Kannon's Klaim),"[1] also known as simply "Kannon's Klanking," "Mine,"[2] and "Kannon's Klaim,"[3] is a musical theme composed by David Wise for Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, where it plays in all of the mine levels: Kannon's Klaim, Squawks's Shaft, and Windy Well.

"Kannon's Klanking" is one of the only level themes in the game not present in The Original Donkey Kong Country 2 Soundtrack (and, by extension, the album Donkey Kong Country Trilogy). As a result, the theme did not have an official name, outside it being titled "Mine" in the sound test. The Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2 named the theme "Kannon's Klaim" in its own sound test, named after the first mine level in the game. The theme was then given its current name when the original game's soundtrack released on Nintendo Music on November 4, 2024.

The theme is completely absent in Donkey Kong Land 2, as all the mine levels play "Hot Head Bop" (the theme for lava levels like Hothead Hop) instead.

Arrangements[edit]

Donkey Kong Country 2 (Game Boy Advance)[edit]

In the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2, an arrangement of "Kannon's Klanking" plays in the same levels as the original. This rendition is much more compressed than the original and uses slightly different instrumentation.
