Hook Guys are enemies appearing in Yoshi's Woolly World and its 3DS port. They are similar to Spear Guys found in previous Yoshi's Island games. Their spear is actually a crochet hook, hence the name. As normal Spear Guys, Yoshi can turn them to eggs (but in this game, yarn balls) by eating them from behind.

The hooks can pop bubbles however. If a Yarn Ball is thrown at a one, it will become impaled on the Hook Guy's hook, and becomes ineffective, and cannot pop bubbles nor harm Yoshi. Their hooks can also get impaled in the ground, leaving the Hook Guy suspended above the ground.
