Acorn Plains Way, or Acorn Plains-1, is the first course of Acorn Plains, and subsequently, the first course of New Super Mario Bros. U. It is unlocked from the beginning of the game, and its completion unlocks Tilted Tunnel.

The course is a grassland level, filled with pipes, Piranha Plants, blue platforms that move up and down, and has many secrets that can be found by moving vertically with power-ups such as the Flying Squirrel Suit or Balloon Baby Yoshi. There are two sub-levels, one that takes place in a bonus room in the sky, another underground, and both of those sub-levels contain Star Coins. The Acorn Tree and Peach's Castle can be seen in the background.
Star Coins
- Star Coin 1: Right after the second set of Question Blocks, suspended in mid-air.
- Star Coin 2: In the green pipe directly after the first Star Coin.
- Star Coin 3: In a pipe, near the end of the course, at the top of the course. The player must use the Flying Squirrel Suit to reach it.
