An end of stage point.

End of stage[1] are items in Donkey Kong Land. As their name implies, they are the goal for each stage, and touching them is required to complete the stage. In the case where an end of stage point is touched and all of stage's KONG Letters are collected, the player has the option to save their game before returning to the map screen.
