Powan[1] is the name given to every ghost enemy that haunts the Ship of Souls, a level in the Aqua World from DK: King of Swing. Powan resemble generic ghosts, with their faces consisting of two big empty eyes and a tiny mouth, followed by a chubby body overall, short hands, and a regular phantom tail; they also have a pointy top on their heads.

Powan float around a set area, until they detect Donkey Kong. In this case, they will start approaching him, attempting to hurt him. Not only this, but they also go invisible before intercepting the Kong; in this state, he can easily pass through the Powan without damaging himself. Nevertheless, the ghosts can so easily beguile him, as they become visible again once covering Donkey Kong, and thus they can easily harm him. But in this state, a Powan is vulnerable. To defeat them, the player needs to charge into them.
