The '''Bank of the Wild River''' is a location found in ''[[Wario Land 3]]'' of the [[Wario Land (series)|''Wario Land'' series]]. It serves as the fourth of six levels that can be found on the north side of the [[Music Box World]]. [[Wario]] can come here after he finds the second [[Music Box|music box]]. The level gets unlocked simultaneously with another one: [[The Tidal Coast]].

The level design itself revolves mostly around the aforementioned river and its surroundings. The starting point of the level lies in the riverbed and the main area is set atop of overgrown black rocks. The water of the river is in steady movement, resulting in strong currents that sweep Wario away if he falls into the water. Some of the rocks are hollow and have rooms hidden in them. A damp crystal cave filled with [[Kobatto]] lies near the river, accessible through a ledge next to the starting point. Further up the stream lies an area full of vines which eventually lead to another cave. A large mouse-fish creature called [[Pesce]] lives there.

However, the [[key|Gray Key]] needed to open the chest can only be found up the river. Wario has to travel upstream on foot, collect the key, and return to the start, riding the currents and evading the sea urchins.


Once Wario finds the Anger Halberd and the Anger Spell Book from The Tidal Coast, he uses both items to summon a heavy lightning storm above the south side of the world. Numerous bolts then rain from the sky onto the land. One of the bolts hits the river on that side, tearing the ground apart and revealing [[The Steep Canyon]].

In the arena, Pesce is underwater, while a dragonfly is above water and can be ridden on. If Wario goes underwater, Pesce will pursue Wario and put him in its mouth if it faces Wario, after which it will go to the current and spit Wario out, ejecting him out of battle. Occasionally, a fly carrying cheese will fly down from the right to the left. If Wario bumps into the fly, it will drop the cheese. If Pesce sees the cheese, it will eat it, which causes it to become fatter. After two more blocks of cheese are fed to Pesce, it will become heavy and sink to the surface, after which it blocks the current from flowing. The dragonfly will fly from above, which Wario can ride on to go back to the previous room. In the room, the current stopped flowing and the Green Chest can be accessed.
To win against the Pesce, Wario has to feed the mouse-fish with cheese, until he gets too heavy to swim and sinks down to the ground, where the strong [[current]]s will catch him and sweep him away. His body mass will then block the currents from escaping, which makes the Green Chest reachable. Various insects hover over the water surface to aid Wario in his intentions: a dragonfly that carries him, and flies carrying infinite amounts of cheese.

The {{conjectural|Rocket}} lies in the crystal cave next to the starting point. The player needs the Air-Pump from [[The Colossal Hole]] in order to reach the entrance of the cave. Inside, Wario encounters various Kobatto which turn him into his [[Vampire Wario|vampire form]] once they bite him. Wario has to make use of this so he can overcome the obstacles in that cave, find the Blue Key, and get the treasure from the Blue Chest.

The Bank of the Wild River is the fourth level on the northern side of the music box world in Wario Land 3. After the music box in A Town in Chaos' Red Chest is collected, then the music from the music box is played, causing this level to be unlocked alongside The Tidal Coast.

The level takes place on a flowing river which spans two areas. The first area, which is at the beginning, contains many rocky structures where caves are hidden inside them. The next area past the current contains vines on the tree. To the left, there is a crystal cave. The boss in this level is Pesce.

Gray Chest: Trident[edit]

The Trident[1] is hidden inside the Gray Chest. It is available as soon as the level is unlocked.

The Gray Key is all the way to the right, where Wario must jump over and drop from four rocky hills on his way. On the way, there are Spear-bots and Fire Robota. The Gray Key is atop the thin platforms.

The Magnifying Glass[2][3], also called the magnifier[4], is in the Red Chest. It requires the Super Smash from Tower of Revival's Red Chest to access, which is needed to reveal secret doors in this level.

From the beginning, the cave that the Red Key is located in is all the way to the right, where Wario must go left and use the powered-up Dash Attack to break the rocks from the right to reveal. The Red Key is just to the right within the cave.
