He is the ninth boss whom Wario confronts in the game in the stage known as [[Bank of the Wild River]]. The boss looks half fish and half mouse. Wario defeats him by fooling him into consuming green cheese. The boss awaits in the water beneath him, waiting for him to fall in. Wario's only platform is a flying bat which he must ride across.  Wario must jump on top of a floating creature so he will drop the green cheese in the water. If at any time Wario should fall in, he will be harmed by Pesce. After the creature eats enough green cheese, he will be beaten.

The Pesce[3] is a boss in Wario Land 3. It is faced in the Bank of the Wild River. Pesce's name comes from "pesce," the Italian word for fish, though the Pesce resembles both a large piranha fish and a mouse. The Pesce will attempt to catch Wario with its mouth when it is facing towards Wario and if he is underwater. If the Pesce catches Wario, it will move towards the current and spit him out, ejecting Wario from the arena until he hits the wall in the previous area. Touching Pesce on any side will stun Wario momentarily without being ejected. If Wario is outside water, Pesce won't chase him. Above the water, there is a dragonfly that can be used as a platform for Wario to stand on. Occasionally, a fly will fly above the dragonfly and carry cheese. Wario must bump into the fly to drop the cheese into the water, and if Pesce sees the cheese, it will eat it and become bigger. After eating three blocks of cheese, the Pesce will become overweight and sink to the bottom, plugging the hole that the current is flowing through to block the fast-moving current that affects the previous room. A dragonfly will fly up and down to allow Wario to go back to the previous room, where he can reach the previously unreachable Green Chest containing a Statue.
