Super Mario Bros. 3[edit]

When Mario is in the Super Mario Bros. 3-inspired area at Green Energy Plant, the background music changes to match the original game. The ground, underground, castle, and athletic themes are played, with a variant of each song that plays while Mario uses the Flip ability. Different jingles play when Mario clears a course or gets a Game Over.

Low health battle music[edit]

If Mario has a low amount of Heart Points, the battle music distorts. "Blackout," "Roshambo Game," and "Straw of Doom (Reprise)" are the only battle themes to not to have distorted variants.

Roy battle[edit]

If Mario is inflicted with the rhythm or blue status effects, and after Roy mixes the paint to make black paint, a different music track replaces "ROYal Rumble." The rage effect speeds up the song, and unmotivated slows it down, while poison and self-conscious do not effect the battle music.
