The Mario Galaxy stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
Mario Galaxy

Mario Galaxy is a stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The stage features gravity similar to that of the Super Mario Galaxy games.

The stage takes place on the starting planet from Gateway Galaxy; the area where Mario started his adventure in Super Mario Galaxy, however, being slightly altered in design, such as the addition of pine trees, the removal of a building, and being overall larger. In the background, various objects can be seen, such as an Airship, Starship Mario, along with Lubba, various Lumas, and a Starshroom. There are two platforms of differing heights on the stage. The center of gravity is the center of the planet, therefore jumping or getting launched upwards from the edge causes the character to move diagonally. Star Bits may occasionally fall onto the stage. The Ω form of the stage is entirely flat, walk-off blast lines are removed and gravity works like it does in most other stages.

This stage can be played in 8-Player Smash mode, but only in its Normal form prior to version 1.0.2. The Starship Mario, Starshroom, and the Airship in the background are removed in 8-Player Smash.

Trivia

  • The stage was officially confirmed on November 15, 2013, though one of the daily pictures (the one displaying Kirby's side special) on the site showed it two months beforehand.
