Fire Snakes,[1] also known as Flames,[2] are obstacles that appear in Super Mario World in the level Outrageous, where only eight of them appear. They are similar to the original Fire Snake from Super Mario Bros. 3, but they appear as small flames hopping towards Mario or Luigi, leaving smaller fires in their wake. These flaming serpents can be eaten by Yoshi and destroyed with a Cape or a Super Star. They can also be safely bounced on with a Spin Jump.
