A Pinchly (pluralized as Pinchlys[1][2] or Pinchlies[3]) is a type of red crab enemy that appears in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They are essentially a stronger variant of Snippys, though unlike Snippys, Pinchlys wear a blue and white pirate bandanna.
Pinchlys first appear in the Beach world as prominent enemies, later appearing in the Mast Blast and Tippy Shippy levels. Like Snippys, they simply move from side to side, though they are quicker. If Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong gets in contact with a Pinchly, it pinches them, and the Kongs lose a heart.
When the Kongs jump on a Pinchly, it raises its pincers. During this, the Kongs can Ground Pound next to the Pinchly to flip it over, then jump on the Pinchly to defeat it.
