The Curlup R is a stronger version of a Curlup in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Only one appears in the game, during the side quest Monster Mania: Level 3 on Petit Islet. The Curlup R has purple shell and white belly, differing itself from normal Curlups. The Monster Maniac claims these creatures got their high hit point value from snacking on Heart Beans; however, he does admit that they may have eaten too much.

Battle[edit]

Mario and Luigi must defeat the Curlup R to clear the side quest. The enemy is level 40 and has 35,000 HP. It fights exactly like a normal Curlup, having the same attacks. Inflicting the Burn status via the Fiery Attack Battle Plug on the Curlup R makes it lose 10,500 HP per turn.

At 35,000 HP, Curlup R possesses the highest amount of HP of any enemy in the Mario & Luigi series, including bosses. In fact, Curlup R possesses more health than the final bosses of all Mario & Luigi games up until and including Mario & Luigi: Brothership (Cackletta Soul, Elder Princess Shroob, Dark Star Core, Dreamy Bowser, Shiny RoboBowser, and Reclusa) combined.[1]
