Variant of Sprite Bulb
“See those Spite Bulbs? They're what happens to a Sprite Bulb when... it's cut off from Connectar.”
Connie, Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Spite Bulbs are dark versions of Sprite Bulbs that appear in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. These are the result of Sprite Bulbs becoming cut off from Connectar energy and instead run on their own stale energy. They are found throughout the Great Lighthouses, usually in large containers.

The Extension Corps use Spite Bulbs to empower Gobblick, Sharpcask and Pipegunk. Once these bosses are defeated, the Spite Bulbs they contained turn back into Sprite Bulbs which Snoutlet immediately collects. The stale energy from Spite Bulbs is also used to create Glohm.

Naming[edit]

"Spite Bulb" is a portmanteau of "Sprite Bulb" (which they are a type of) and "spite", denoting their negative nature.
