Greater location Gulchrock Sea

The Gulchrock Sea, Great Lighthouse Island is the fourth and final Great Lighthouse Island visited in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It is visited after retrieving the Pile of Ampberries on Wayaway Island, and lighting it up opens a current to Fortress Zokket's location. Unlike the other Great Lighthouse Islands, there is no boss nor basement.

History[edit]

Mario, Luigi, and Connie use the elevator inside to climb the Great Lighthouse, stopping on a few floors along the way. In the second floor, the Zok Troops attempt to use Glohm Spikes to defeat Mario and Luigi, then attempt to fight them themselves. The next floor contains documents left by Zokket, which contain notes about the rebirth of Reclusa and that Zokket plans to dispose of the Zok Troops and the Extension Corps once Reclusa is reborn. At the top of the Great Lighthouse, Connie uses her Bonding Can to restore light to the Great Lighthouse, and the trio spots Fortress Zokket in the distance emitting a Glohm cloud.

During Mario and Luigi's first visit to Fortress Zokket, the Great Lighthouse alongside the other three fire the Glohmatic Quad-Ray directly at Bowser on Zokket's orders, transforming him into Glohm Bowser. After Reclusa awakens, Cozette visits the Great Lighthouse Island during the side quest Cozette's Decision, and reveals to Mario and Luigi that this was where she discovered Reclusa's egg and became Zokket.

When Concordia gets restored, the wave of Connectar from the Uni-Tree dispels the Glohm energy from the Great Lighthouse.

Patriarc's note[edit]

Patriarc left his last note here, to the northeast of the elevator. The note starts with a question whether Patriarc's son Arc would stop mattering to him as a result of getting infected by Glohm. The note then proceeds to question why Zokket wants to make the world lonely, but does comment on his habit of talking to the egg in his fortress, even joking on how Zokket enjoys parenting it. Afterward, Patriarc notices someone and becomes shocked:

If I got hit by this Glohm ray, would I stop caring about my son? I get that Zokket wants to make the world lonely, but I don't understand why. He sure likes talking to his egg though. Maybe even he enjoys "parenting" it.

...Wait. Who is that? No! It can't be!

Afterward, the text becomes too messy to read, implying that Patriarc lost control of his handwriting in his panic.

Memos[edit]

The following memos from Zokket can be found on 4F.

Memo Text Location
Log: Reclusa Observations, Part 1 The egg says its name is "Reclusa." Yes, it told me its name, and that makes sense. The egg speaks directly to my brain. The egg has also shared this important truth... Loneliness is sublime. Short stack of books near the top of the eastern stairway.
Log: Reclusa Observations, Part 2 The egg only SEEMS not to move. But it definitely speaks to my brain. I now know my only calling: the resurrection of Reclusa. Loneliness is sublime. All connections will be severed. Reclusa will rule a new era of isolation. Once I have completed my task, I, too, will know the bliss of isolation. Loneliness is sublime. Approximately 284 hours, 56 minutes, and 29 seconds until the resurrection. In the single tier blue box of memos in the back.
The So-Called Extension Corps I met these buffoons on Slippenglide Island and employed them as generals for my army. They are intensely incompetent but loyal. Do they seek glory, or are they simply afraid? They will be superfluous after the rebirth. I will need some means of disposing them. In the double tiered blue box of memos near the top of the western stairway.
Beyond the Glohmatic Ray I have distilled the isolation energy from Spite Bulbs. This will be the source for Glohm. I can then focus and amplify it through the Great Lighthouses... (The log ends here.) The stack of books in the back (with yellow book on top).
Building an Army My soldiers, my hands in the wide world, are simply junk repurposed and rebuilt. I gave them language so they might cooperate, but it is absurd to see these junk piles speak. I cannot imagine a place for them in the new world after he is reborn. They will suffer. They may rebel and become ungovernable. No matter—they are ephemeral things. In the bookcase near the bottom of the eastern stairway.

Enemies[edit]

Upon Reclusa's awakening, the following enemies appear:
