Description
"A heartfelt letter from Willma to her beloved son/daughter."
Appears in Mario & Luigi: Brothership (2024)

Willma's Letter is a key item in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It is a letter written by Willma to one of her children (Maykit or Billdit, whichever one the Mario Bros. found first).

The letter is the main focus of the side quest A Mother's Worries, in which the brothers must deliver it alongside some dirty coins to the child running the workshop on Shipshape Island. The letter reads as follows:

Dear Maykit/Billdit,
how are you these days?

It's been quite a while since my kids left home.

But to me, it feels like yesterday. I must really be getting old.

When the land split apart, that was scary.

Next to that, I'm not afraid to think about you out on your own. Not TOO afraid, anyway.

Are you eating well? You should visit more often.

Oh, but don't worry about me.

I think that's all the letter writing I have in me. So I'll stop here. Take care, and keep swinging!

After being given the letter and reading, Maykit or Billdit discovers the muddy coins before thinking of Willma and her caring nature. They then realize the mud is actually chocolate. The child then reads the final part of the letter:

Oh, P.S. My neighbor gave us some chocolate coins the other day.

I ate most of them already, but you can have the rest. That's all! -Your Mom

Maykit/Billdit thanks Mario and Luigi, giving them two Syrup Jars and completing the side quest.
