The Jetsetter (known as the Aero Glider in PAL regions, or a Speeder in Mario Kart Tour) is a kart that appears in the Mario Kart series, debuting in Mario Kart Wii. It resembles a Le Mans Prototype racecar and the body has a similar design to the Streamliner, but has more of a rectangular shape as opposed to the Streamliner's wedge-shaped body. The Sprinter (its rough equivalent in middle-sized vehicles) is also very similar to the Jetsetter in shape, though the Sprinter is more clearly modeled on Formula 1 racecars. The Jetsetter features a three-pointed nose with the middle point shorter and thicker. It has blue wheels, a rear fin and a single dual exhaust port in the back. The emblem is located on the hood and sides of the kart.

History

Mario Kart Wii

The Jetsetter (known as the Aero Glider in the British English version) is a large Speed-type kart. The kart is unlocked by receiving a one star rank or better in all 150cc Retro Cups or by playing 4,500 races.

The Jetsetter is the fastest vehicle in the game. It also has decent weight, but is actually the lightest large kart in the game. However, all of the Jetsetter's other stats are severely low; it is notable in that it has the worst handling, off-road, and Mini-Turbo stats in the game, as well as the lowest stat total of all vehicles overall with 222 stat points. It also has the third worst drift among the karts, behind the Super Blooper and Offroader. Visibly, it has the same acceleration as the Wild Wing, though internal data shows the two having mixed stats in acceleration.

Additionally, Funky Kong's Jetsetter has the best speed stat in the game. If the Jetsetter is driven by Bowser, Donkey Kong, Funky Kong, or Rosalina, it will not be capable of drifting on any type of off-road terrain. If Waluigi uses it, its acceleration stat will become that of the Sprinter and Honeycoupe, and its drift stat will become that of the Magikruiser and Daytripper.

The Spear (its bike counterpart), Sprinter, and Blue Falcon share similar stat distribution as the Jetsetter.

Mario Kart Tour

The Jetsetter appears in Mario Kart Tour starting from the Battle Tour. It is classified as a High-End kart. Unlike its previous appearance, it is equipped with Rosalina's color scheme and does not change if other drivers are using it. It also goes under a new name called the Green Speeder, being the first kart that originally debuted in a prior Mario Kart game to receive a brand new name in Mario Kart Tour. The Green Speeder uses a yellow-rimmed version of the Slick tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It increases the duration of Slipstream boosts and the number of points earned for performing a Slipstream.

A white variant with flames called the Flaming Speeder debuts alongside the Green Speeder in the Battle Tour and is also classified as a High-End kart.
