Hothead Jed
Template:Species-infobox Firehead Neds[1], also called Hothead Jeds[2][page number needed], are skeletal dinosaur enemies that appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They are a derived fiery species of Bonehead Jeds. They ride in barrel Mine Carts and only their head and extendable neck is visible. Like Bonehead Jeds, Firehead Neds only appear in three of the earlier Cliff levels including: Sticky Situation, Prehistoric Path, and Boulder Roller.
Firehead Neds behave similar to Bonehead Jeds, except that they ride in barrel Mine Carts filled with molten rock, giving their empty eye sockets a orange-red glow. They can also extend their neck to shoot out fireballs. If a Kong comes into contact with a Firehead Ned, they take damage. To defeat a Firehead Ned, Donkey Kong must jump on it twice, with the first hit temporarily immobilizing them. Other attack methods such as throwing a barrel also work, although Kong Rolls remain ineffective.
