Donut Plains 3 is a level in the game Super Mario World and is the third level of the second world, Donut Plains. This level, taking place above a mushroom forest, is filled with several kinds of platforms and it is also the first level to feature Switches. It is occasionally difficult to land on the right platform, because in many spots, there is only open air. Jumping and missing the platforms would make Mario or Luigi lose a life.

Donut Plains 3 is the third level of Donut Plains in Super Mario World. This level, taking place above a mushroom forest, is filled with several kinds of platforms, and it is also the first level to feature ON/OFF Switches.

Overview[edit]

The player starts out next to a Triple Swing Lift followed by a Pulley Lift and another Triple Swing Lift. After getting through, the player comes to an area with Koopa Troopas and Koopa Paratroopas. There are also some Rotating Blocks under the player. If the player is not Small Mario or Small Luigi, they can break the blocks with a Spin Jump. One of the Rotating Blocks contains a Beanstalk that leads up to an area with Cloud Blocks and coins. Up ahead are ON/OFF Switches that the player must use to change the path of a Pulley Lift to avoid falling into the pit below them. The Pulley Lift leads the player to the Midway Gate. Past the gate, Fuzzies start appearing on tracks, often while the player is riding a platform on the same track. After several more platforms, the player hops on one last platform with a Bonus Block nearby, which guides the player to the Giant Gate.

Secret area[edit]

In the second half of the level, the player can use a Pulley Lift to reach a yellow Warp Pipe. This pipe takes them to a 1-Up Chamber, where they can win up to five extra lives by hitting Prize Blocks in the correct order.
