- “Flat body... Hard back... Might that be a shell? What a life it must live, adrift upon the surface of the sea. Well, Yoshi, let's not dawdle. Go and see what it's like, won't you?”
- —Mr. E, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
Snurfboards are creatures that appear in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, found in Snurfboard Habitat from Chapter 3: Seaside. They are designed after snails, though their shells are in the shape of skateboards, fitted with wheels. In Snurfboard Habitat, Yoshi can find one sleeping and wake it up with a Tail Flick or a Ground Pound. Once it is awake, Yoshi can ride on it and traverse through the course, which includes large bodies of water. Yoshi can jump and perform multiple ollies and spins in the air to gain a little extra height. While riding a Snurfboard, Yoshi can crouch and can still flick his tongue out. Yoshi can dismount with or
. Snurfboards can also dive and spin underwater. When Yoshi ground pounds a Snurfboard, they flip in the air. Yoshi can also throw them up in the air, where they spin faster with each toss, and Yoshi can skid them across the water to catch fish.
Six smaller variants of Snurfboards in different colors of the rainbow appear where Yoshi can collect them. Yoshi can also jump on them to flip them over where Mr. E remarks that they are too small to ride. Flipping all of them over unlocks a discovery.
Snurfboards reappear in Chapter 11: Special Studies in All-Terrain Race.

Naming[edit]
"Snurfboard" is a portmanteau of "snail" and "surfboard".
When the name is suggested by Mr. E, he says, "It's flat for riding and lets you glide over surf and turf alike...so how about Snurfboard?"
