The Alien is a creature that appears in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. He is encountered in the Yu Ef Oh Base level, where Yoshi can rescue him from his escape pod using the Yu Ef Oh.
History[edit]
Long before the events of the game, scientists came from another world to study the native life of the planet. The scientists built a base on an apparent "moon" to avoid disturbing the habitats on the planet below, using the stalk of the connected tree to commute to the planet's surface. Exploring the planet in secret, they brought some of the creatures they encountered back to their base for further study. Remnants of their actions were left behind, including several Yu Ef Ohs accidentally abandoned on the surface. The scientists produced new creatures as a by-product of their research, such as the Blorp, Eleedee, and Cuttlefwoosh.
Eventually, the scientists discovered the "moon" they were stationed on would fall to the planet below. Having learned enough from their studies, they swiftly abandoned the base and returned to their home planet. However, one of the scientists, a professor specializing in mysterious creatures, stayed behind out of compassion for the creatures below who would be wiped out by the moon's collapse. Using Mr. E, a living encyclopedia he created, the professor worked tirelessly to preserve as many creatures before disappearing in the aftermath of the moon's fall.
