Stickiwicks are spider-like creatures that appear in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. They have four eyes, light blue and yellow bodies with large orange lips, and orange feet with purple tips. First encountered in Chapter 5: Bug Country in the Stickiwick Habitat, they are unlocked by completing the Swirm Habitat.
A Stickiwick is always seen hanging to a web orb (which serves as its nest) even while swinging. When picking up a Stickiwick, it will attach itself to Yoshi's head while carrying its web orb. Yoshi can have the Stickiwick throw its orb in the air to reach upper platforms and other areas hard to access. When the orb is sticking to a platform or a wall, Yoshi can swing himself in the air before throwing the orb again. Doing a Ground Pound while swinging will create momentum and allow Yoshi to swing even faster.
Because of its sticky properties, the Stickiwick's web orb can be used to catch items like Tokens and even a ! Switch stuck in a rocky wall. If a Winged Cloud is caught, its effects will be immediately activated. Other creatures like Butterflies, Springhoppers and more can also be caught by the web orb. Any creature caught by it will be eaten by the Stickiwick. The Stickiwick's web is shown to be very powerful as it doesn't break while Yoshi is swinging and can even pull large objects like a wooden crate.
Stickiwicks hide in their web orb when gobbled by Yoshi and thereby cannot be eaten as the orbs will just stick to Yoshi's teeth. If a Stickiwick is hiding in its web orb, Yoshi can get it out by doing a Ground Pound on the orb.

Naming[edit]
"Stickiwick" may be a pun on "sticky", referring to how its ball of thread sticks onto surfaces, and possibly "wick" (the string inside a candlestick), referring to the thread itself.
When the name is suggested by Mr. E, he says the following:
- “It sticks to surfaces by swinging around on a ball and thread... so how about Stickiwick?”
