Glubbit

Glubbits[1] are creatures that appear in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. They are frog-like creatures with mouths shaped like bubble wands, who spit out bubbles that trap other creatures on contact.
Glubbits who eat an apple will turn orange and produce bigger yellow bubbles which can trap up to three creatures inside it, while Glubbits who eat a heart turnip will become pink and produce heart-shaped bubble that can trap up to two creatures. Glubbits that eat a hot pepper will turn red, gain spikes along the sides of their mouth, and spit out red bubbles that burst with enough force to scatter leaves and defeat Bunchabees and Big Bunchabees, as well as popping other bubbles nearby. When a Glubbit is covered in mud, its given type of bubble will become heavy and fall towards the ground.
If a Yoshi eats a Glubbit, it will not only produce an egg, but also spit out a bubble. A Yoshi can have a Glubbit ride on its back, enabling it to belch out bubbles while Yoshi runs.
Some Glubbits can be found buried underground while they sleep, requiring Yoshi to ground-pound the visible mound of dirt to force them out.

Naming[edit]
"Glubbit" is a portmanteau of "glub" and "ribbit".
When the name is suggested by Mr. E in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, he says the following:
