Shower Fish are large fish enemies that appear in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. They are commonly found on Allsand Island, where they chase after Mario and Luigi if they are near. Shower Fish have two forms; their normal form depicts them with multiple shades of blue, pink lips, purple eyeshadow and a shower head attacked to them. They can also dehydrate and become slim and turn a pale yellow color with an angry expression. Additionally, their shower head becomes a light similar to that of an angler fish. Both forms of Shower Fish appear on the overworld. Later on in the game, Shower Fish fall under the effects of Glohm, becoming Glohm Shower Fish. Three Glohm Shower Fish inhabit Dropplet Islet.

In the Brrning Sea, a reef resembling a Shower Fish can be found, known as Shower Reef.

Battle[edit]

In battle, Shower Fish can switch between their two forms. If a normal Shower Fish breathes tiredly, it will dehydrate. If a dehydrated Shower Fish pats itself, if will become hydrated. Each form of Shower Fish has two attacks.

  • While normal, Shower Fish can stand in the center before jumping on Mario or Luigi. If the Shower Fish looks to Mario and blows a kiss, Mario will be targeted. If it looks to Luigi and sighs, then Luigi will be attacked. The Bros. must use their hammers to defend. If the attacking Shower Fish is countered, they will get repelled higher above the targeted brother. After three hits, or if the Shower Fish is defeated, the attack will end.
  • In their normal form, Shower Fish can slowly close in on the brothers before suddenly rushing at one of them. The targeted character is indicated by the same cues, although false ones may be given out by the enemy. The Shower Fish will only charge once its shower head glows. Mario and Luigi must jump to avoid and counter the Shower Fish. Sometimes the Shower Fish might perform a second charge at the targeted brother immediately after attacking. They may also continue attacking afterwards.
  • While dehydrated, Shower Fish can quickly spin around Mario and Luigi in an "8" pattern before closing in on one of them. Its light will glow before attacking a brother, who must counter by jumping. Whoever is closest when the Shower Fish's light glows will be attacked.
  • In their dehydrated form, Shower Fish can get in front of Mario or Luigi and gather power in place. When its light glows, it will rush towards them and slap them repeatedly. The Bros. must counter by using their hammers. Sometimes after being countered, they may perform the attack again on the other character.
