Game & Watch games[edit]

Game Location Links Plot
Donkey Kong and Mario Bros. United Kingdom 1 After a building with girder stuck to it is carried away by an unknown force, Donkey Kong is lured by someone holding a banana and breaks out of his cage. Mario then appears running away from Game and Watch, until they both beat Mario with their bats. While all of this is happening, a voice says whenever this happens, they have been captured by Game and Watch to be put in Donkey Kong and Mario Bros. The commercial ends with a man putting the Mario Bros. Game & Watch into his pocket with text appearing reading "The most fun you can get in your pocket" with other Game & Watches being advertised alongside Donkey Kong and Mario Bros.

This commercial was directed by Oscar Grillo.

Donkey Kong Jr. United States 1 Two boys get the attention of Mr. Arcade who tells him Donkey Kong Jr. is having trouble trying to save his father by playing his arcade game. Mr. Arcade moves him over and shrinks the arcade cabinet to turn it into the Table Top version. Upon seeing this, everyone crowds around Mr. Arcade and Junior. Donkey Kong Jr. then gives Mr. Arcade a kiss and he and Junior walk home to save his father. Other Coleco tabletop games are advertised afterwards.
Mario's Cement Factory United States 1 An animation plays of Mario jumping over flaming barrels by Donkey Kong, who has captured Pauline. When Mario jumps down to escape, he notices the cement overflowing from the hopper and rushes to flip the switch. After the animation plays, two children are seen playing the game as a voice advertises it. At the end of the commercial, the tabletop version of Popeye and Snoopy are advertised alongside Mario's Cement Factory.

Game Boy / Game Boy Color games[edit]

Game Location Links Plot
Baseball Japan 1 Three boys are stranded in the desert next to a road playing on their Game Boys as a song plays in the background. One is playing Super Mario Land, and the other two had link cables that allowed them to play Baseball in multiplayer. The boys end up getting so distracted, that they miss a truck that drove past them. Two of the boys then chase after the truck. The commercial ends with Alleyway and Yakuman being advertised alongside the two aforementioned games.
Donkey Kong United States 1 A man is tied up in bandages, and an officer is asking him which of the criminals caused his damages. Among three of the suspects, one is a gorilla, who growls at the victim, who turns into dust upon seeing it. A hammer then falls over with text on it reading "The beast is back." The game is advertised afterwards.
2 A comet flies towards Earth and enters the home of a boy playing on his Game Boy. The comet destroys parts of the house, only for it to be revealed to be a Super Game Boy. The system grabs the cartridge out of the boy's Game Boy, puts it inside of itself, and lands in the SNES. A voice then says the system works for all 350 Game Boy games, including Donkey Kong, as the cartridge is stuck on the boy's forehead. While playing, electricity from the wire connecting the SNES to the controller electrocutes the boy, coming out of his ears and writes "Super Game Boy" on the wall.
Japan 1 Mario, dressed similarly to Albert Einstein, demonstrates the Super Game Boy to Donkey Kong and how it can give color to Game Boy games, using Donkey Kong as an example. Donkey Kong asks Mario if all the other Game Boy games up until that point work with the system, to which Mario confirms they can. At the end of the commercial, Tetris 2 is advertised alongside Donkey Kong.
2 Over a city, a metal Mario statue flies from a Game Boy to a Super Famicom, creating a rainbow bridge between the two systems. In the middle of the bridge, a Super Game Boy is formed. The cartridge for Donkey Kong is placed inside the Super Game Boy, which is then placed in the Super Famicom, and Mario begins playing the game. Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Mario, Wario, Bowser, Princess Peach, Luigi, Toad, Kirby, King Dedede, a Koopa Troopa, a Lakitu, a Cheep Cheep, a Goomba, a Boo, a Piranha Plant, and more characters cross the bridge and enter the Super Famicom.
Donkey Kong Country United States 1 Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong find a yellow Game Boy Color playing Donkey Kong Country in a jungle. Diddy Kong sits on the Game Boy, but jumps off before it could fall over, revealing a Krusha behind it. The Krusha scares Diddy Kong, causing him to run into the camera and get knocked out. A Klump then appears and fights the Krusha for the Game Boy. A coconut is thrown from a distance which hits the Krusha. The thrower is revealed to be Diddy Kong swinging from a vine. Krusha goes after Diddy as Donkey Kong rides on Rambi in the distance. They approach the Klump and the Game Boy, where Donkey Kong hops off Rambi so that it attacks the Klump. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are then reunited and Donkey Kong carries the Game Boy Color. The scene is then warped off screen as the game's logo appears. Gameplay footage is then shown with the "C" in "Game Boy Color", resembling a pair of lips, tells the viewer to "Get into it."
Japan 1 Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are seen dancing on a stage as a voice advertises the game's new features, including the Green banana.
Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong Japan 1 Donkey Kong is waiting in line at a fast food restaurant while playing Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong on his Game Boy Color. Donkey Kong is so focused on the game, that it takes him a while to realize he is being called up next. Donkey Kong orders bananas and a drink with a banana label on it, but pauses to find out he obtained rare cards of Kiddy Kong for the Donkey Kong Card Game. Everyone surrounding Donkey Kong and cheering as tears fall from his eyes. The commercial ends with the Donkey Kong Card Game being advertised.
2 This is a shorter version of the first commercial, where Donkey Kong faints upon seeing the cards instead of tearing up.
Donkey Kong Land United States 1 In a classroom, people are acting like apes over Donkey Kong Land while it is being advertised. The commercial ends with the text "Play it loud" being displayed on one of the people's tongues.
2 After gameplay footage of Donkey Kong Country is shown, an animation plays of Donkey Kong following a path of bananas leading to a plate of them. When he picks it up, a stick that supports a giant Game Boy falls, and Donkey Kong gets crushed by the Game Boy. The game is advertised afterwards. The commercial ends with another animation of Donkey Kong running into the screen.
Japan 1 Gameplay footage of Donkey Kong Country is shown with a voice claiming the game sold 300 million units, and to capitalize on the game's success, they are making a similar game for the Game Boy. The same animation from the second US commercial plays, but this time its the full thing: showing Donkey Kong breaking out of a television to reach the banana path. Donkey Kong Land is advertised afterwards.
Australia 1 A man being played by Michael Klim is playing Donkey Kong Labd on his golden Game Boy Pocket instead of participating in a 100 meter swimming competition. A boy attempts to tell him he has a race to attend to, but the man assumes he is being tricked by him. The limited edition gold Game Boy Pocket is advertised afterwards.
