“You're on the surface of the moon... Look below the moon. You can still see the Tallest of Trees. In other words...that tremendous tree reaches all the way up to the moon in the sky!”
Mr. E

Moon is the tenth chapter in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, as well as the final main chapter overall. It is unlocked by having ??? and completing Bewilder Bird Habitat for the first time. It takes place on the apparent "moon", connected to by the Tallest of Trees below.

History

Main article: Crazee Dayzee (moon)

Mr. E reveals several details of the moon and how it relates to his origins, through exposition shown after completing both the Bewilder Bird Habitat and the final habitat in the game for the first time, and clearing some of Mr. E's Challenges.

Prior to the events of the game, scientists from "another world" came to the planet to study and research the native creatures residing there, building a base on the apparent moon to avoid disturbing the habitats. The scientists used the massive stalk connected to the "moon" to commute to the planet and back, visiting habitats and studying the creatures in secret. Eventually, the scientists learned that the moon was destined to fall, so they quickly abandoned base and returned safely to their home planet, knowing that their research had already taught them well.

The moon eventually crashed onto the planet's surface, leaving everything in ruin. However, as the professor had the foresight to predict such an event, he created Mr. E to transport and preserve all the creatures in the book's pages, saving them from a terrible fate. The professor's whereabouts after the moon fell are unknown.

Within Mr. E's pages, the events of the moon falling down to the planet below are repeated again during the final boss battle against the moon's core, but the moon explodes in space instead after Yoshi manages to defeat the core in time. After viewing the credits for the second time, Mr. E reveals that the apparent "moon" is actually the face of a gigantic Crazee Dayzee that grew for several years.

Chapter page

Initially, the chapter's page begins with a view of the entire moon itself. Mr. E magnifies the moon's surface to begin exploring the creatures residing on it, beginning with a single Blorp. The moon's surface appears barren, with a few metallic crates and two planetoids in the backdrop above. Completing Blorp Habitat will then populate the moon's surface with several Blorps of varying breeds. A Raven will eventually appear walking on the surface of one of the planetoids.

Completion of Raven Habitat will make an orange Cuttlefwoosh fly in. After clearing the latter's respective habitat, it will begin to propel through the air, panning the camera to reveal remains of an alien-like civilization with a crashed Yu Ef Oh and five Eleedees of varying colors standing on a powerless plate nearby. After completing Eleedee Habitat, the Eleedees begin to power up and charge the plate they're standing on, causing the Yu Ef Oh to activate and hover in the air, allowing for its respective habitat to be selected.

After completion of Yu Ef Oh Base, the moon begins to shake. Suspecting that the moon may have been the cause of all the shaking, Mr. E allows for Yoshi to explore the entire Moon as a "habitat". He zooms out again to the view of the moon, with the "face" appearing to glow. From there, the player can select the Moon to explore it as the final habitat in the game.
