The Atari 2600 (also called VCS, or Video Computer System) is a video game console manufactured by Atari and released in October 1977. In 1981, Nintendo would release their first game for the Atari 2600, in collaboration with Coleco they ported Donkey Kong into a 2600 game. Later in 1983, a 2600 version of Mario Bros. was made. Following the release of the Nintendo Famicom, Nintendo's interest in the Atari 2600 decreased, but they would still release another game for the Atari 2600, and so, in 1988, the last Mario-related 2600 game was released, Donkey Kong Jr..
