Piranha Plant statues in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

Fire Pakkun Zō (referred to by Nintendo Power as Piranha Plants[1]) are statues of Venus Fire Traps that only appear inside Mario's castle in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. They routinely charge up horizontal fireball projectiles when approached by Mario, which only hurt once leaving the statue's mouth. There are big and small-sized statues, which respectively shoot out big and small fireballs. Both statues can be used as platforms, despite the decorative spikes on the bigger version.
