The Monocle is an item in the SNES version of Mario's Time Machine. It features a clear piece of glass in a circular black frame, with a wire dangling off of the frame. It is given by the owner of the Swan Inn in Vienna, which he found in Ludwig van Beethoven's room, once he is given a Backscratcher to treat a previously mentioned itch. It can be given to the owner of a nearby music store after he is given the Metronome, as he had previously mentioned that he needed to see an optometrist and wanted something that could help him see. Once he has the Monocle, he thanks Mario for giving it to him and talks about Ludwig's history some more.
