The Spectacles are an item in the PC release of Mario's Time Machine. They are the sole pair of eyeglasses of Abraham Lincoln, which he needs for reading. In 1863, as he is about to read out his Emancipation Proclamation at the White House in Washington, D.C., Bowser travels back in time and steals them, preventing him from reading his speech. After he then exhibits it in his museum for stolen artifacts, Mario steals them back and time travels to Washington, D.C. himself to return the Spectacles. Mario then questions various individuals around the White House about his surroundings and the Spectacles, as he does not know that they belong to Lincoln. When Frederick Douglass sees them, he thinks that they belong to Mary Todd Lincoln, as she is very forgetful. Eventually, Mario figures out that the Spectacles belong to Abraham and returns them to him. He then thanks Mario and takes them so that he can read out his speech.
