Template:Level Rainforest Rumble is the thirty-fourth level in the classic Game Boy and Game Boy Color game, Donkey Kong Land III. It is also the fourth area of The Lost World.

This is the game's final rain forest level, and unlike other rain forest levels, it does not involve the Kongs sliding along moving vines. In fact, throughout the level, the monkeys will be turned into the Animal Buddy, Ellie the Elephant. This buddy will have to travel through much of the stage. Though one of the last levels in the game, Rainforest Rumble is a more generic stage, and does not feature any special hazards. It is, however, filled with many small gaps for Ellie to jump over, as well as an abundant number of foes. Of these enemies are Bristles, Buzzes, Sneeks, Krimps, and a lone Krumple. A few Knik-Knaks also appear in a hidden area of the level. Many of the level's Buzzes are located around abysses to attack the heroes.

Level Layout

From the start of the level, the heroes will have to head east and run into a barrel. This barrel will blast them over an abyss and into an Animal Barrel, turning the monkeys into Ellie the Elephant. From there, the transformed group should walk down a long path, filled with many small gaps. As Ellie jumps over each abyss, she will have to watch out for many enemies, mainly Sneeks and Buzzes around the pits. On the way, the elephant will run into the letter K and have to hop over more gaps. After jumping across a rather wide abyss, Ellie will find the letter O. At that point, she should defeat more enemies with here water-shooting abilities and cross two small gaps to find the Star Barrel.

Now about halfway through the level, the Animal Buddy will have to travel over more abysses. She will also meet some Krimps around the area. On a small platform, she will find the letter N. After this, the small elephant will need to avoid more enemies and cross more pits to find the letter G in plain sight. After this is collected, Ellie will have to cross another abyss and walk down a long, enemy covered path to find a No Animal Sign. Once this sign is passed, Ellie will turn back into the Kongs. At that point, the heroes will have to jump into a Rotatable Barrel and blast to a Krumple on the other end of an abyss. There, they will see the flagpole. Once they touch it, the level will end.

Secrets

Bonus Levels

  • At the beginning of the level, the heroes should travel west and drop off of the cliff to land in an Animal Barrel. It will turn them into Squawks the Parrot. The bird should be used to fly over a wide abyss. On the other end of the abyss, the parrot will cross a No Animal Sign to turn back into the Kongs. Nearby will be the Bonus Barrel. The heroes will have to jump inside it to begin the special Bonus Level. There, they will need to jump into another barrel and shoot through a long chain of other barrels, collecting a few stars At the end of the stage, the monkeys will be shot into the Bonus Coin.
  • At the end of the level, the Kongs will get in a Rotatable Barrel. They should aim the barrel into an abyss below them and fall downwards. They will be caught by a Bonus Barrel and then enter a Bonus Level, where they will need to race along a few long tightropes to grab stars. Time is short, however, so the monkeys will have to act fast. Once all the stars are collected, the Bonus Coin will appear in the bottom-right corner of the area.

DK Coin

  • At the end of the level, the heroes will notice a lone barrel sitting in front of the flagpole. They monkeys should pick it up and jump over the flagpole to find a Koin with the DK Coin. The heroes will have to defeat the to foe to get the coin, but he will use a shield to block all their attacks. So, the group will need to jump on top of him and throw the barrel they found at the edge of the screen. The barrel will bounce back and hit the Koin's side, defeating him, and also giving the apes the DK Coin.
