Goombas' Playground is a LEGO Super Mario expansion set released on August 1, 2024, in wave 9 of sets in the theme. The set includes Goomba figures with modified plates with studs on their heads, unlike regular Goombas in the theme. This allows the Goombas to be stacked on each other, creating a Goomba Tower. Each Goomba has a different facial expression. Due to this, their Action Tag is located on their back instead of their head. Regardless, they still require the interactive figure to jump on their Action Tag once in order to defeat them, which grants the player one coin per Goomba defeated. The set's main feature consists of a large hollow tree with two branches. The Goomba figures can be placed inside the tree through the top and then launched through the front by pressing the lever at the back.
An additional plate included features a seesaw loosely balanced on top of a support. Goombas can be placed on either end so they appear to be playing. An interactive figure can also be placed on the Action Tag at the center of the seesaw. When this is done, "Main Theme" from Super Mario 64 plays, and the player can win coins by balancing the figure on the seesaw as it swings.
