Super Mushroom Surprise is a LEGO Super Mario expansion set released on August 1, 2020, as part of the first wave of LEGO Super Mario sets. At 18 pieces, it is the smallest expansion set released, being only slightly larger than a Power-Up Pack. The set features a Super Mushroom and a ? Block on top of a grass platform on a water base.

If an interactive figure scans the Super Mushroom's Action Tag, they gain one more point of health, and can now survive being dropped or touching a hazard such as lava once before becoming dizzy. Scanning the ? Block's Action Tag grants the player one of six different items: A Super Mushroom, a Super Star (which grants him temporary invincibility and the ability to defeat any enemy in one hit), one coin, five coins, ten coins, or 15 extra seconds.

The set was originally available as a pre-order or promotional bonus at select retailers, including at LEGO's official website, before becoming available for purchase separately.[2][3]
