Amadeus Wolfgeist

Amadeus Wolfgeist is the fifth boss encountered in Luigi's Mansion 3. He is encountered and fought on Floor 4 after Luigi locates him in the Great Stage. Defeating Amadeus Wolfgeist rewards Luigi with the elevator button to the sixth floor as well as freeing one of the imprisoned Toads. His name is based on that of famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.{ 4F Great Stage }

{ The room goes dim except a for a spotlight or two which shines on Amadeus and Toad Toad's painting}

{Daisy suggests Luigi and herself sit down quietly then wait for Amadeus to finish his crescendo to chat with him }

Amadeus Wolfgeist: {Playing a tune with concerned desire and anger to get Toad out of his painting but no luck; however, proceeds to keep trying anyway} Dak! C'mon! C'mon! Please Arbeit! Work! GUAH!

{Toad's portrait starts to shimmer, but fails in seconds! }

{BUMMMMRRHMMM!}

Amadeus Wolfgeist: NEIN!!!X 2 NO!! X 2 {Pounds on the ivory keys of his piano with both fist} ?! WAS! WHAT! {Eyes elongate into bullets for a mere sec as he notices notes are missing from his music sheet!} GRR....! {boiling mad} !? { hears clapping; turn and sees Luigi & Daisy.} Oh, just human tourists that admire my work... {Double takes.} AB-THA-THAT-A!! HUMANS?! YOU ZWEI!!! TWO!!! BACK FOR MORE EH? FIRST YOU COME IN HERE, TERRORIZE ME INTO DOING YOUR AND YOUR BOSSES' DIRTY WORK, BLOW UP MY PRECIOUS HAND-CRAFTED PIANO! AND NOW, DECIDED TO RETURN AND PRANK ME WITH INVISIBLE INKING MY MUSIC SHEETS TO STALL ME FROM FREEING YOUR FRIEND HERE!!! COME TO THINK OF IT, .... Luigi Mario: {Gulps as he holds onto Daisy in severe horrifying thoughts of what the blood, festering, enraged Amadeus has in store for the flower princess and electric plumber}

{TWANG!! SNAP!!! Cuckoo clock SFX .}

Amadeus Wolfgeist: { Eye twitch; crack a crazed oily grin.} Misunderstanding you plead? Well...~! Why didn't you say so? Come up here! So, we can chat and probably free this man from his mural cell~!

Princess Daisy Wildflower: Well, if you put it that way...{ is about come up}

Luigi Mario: ! WAIT! D-DAISY! IT'S-A TRAP!!

Princess Daisy Wildflower: GAAH! H-HEY! {Falls off the staircase to the stage as Purple Gates fall in front of it! Rub head.} OOF!

Amadeus Wolfgeist: HA! YOU DO SPECULATE I, AMADEUS WOLFGEIST WOULD BE SO GULLIBLE TO PURCHASE YOUR "LITTLE SOB STORY" AFTER WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO YOUR "FRIEND AND ME"?! NOW, I IMPLORE YOU TO HEAR MY LATEST PIECE! AND NOTE WHEN I SAY LAST!!! BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MISCHIEFMAKING SCOUNDRELS WHO HARM OTHERS AND DISRESPECT!!! TAAAH-RAAAH-YAAH!

{He then starts playing a violent crescendo ballad!}

{BROOO! French Horn SFX.}

Princess Daisy Wildflower: {Her eyes expand and pop out from their sockets as they depict Luigi about get creamed by a couple of auditorium seats! } LUIGI!!! {Tackle sides him out of the way; she grips onto his wrist tightly as they sprint around the auditorium; attempting to dodge the bomb diving chairs}

Amadeus Wolfgeist: {Mad Laughter as he plays dis-corded notes.} UH-HAHA-AHA-HA~! WALTZ~! YOU IMBECILES!!! WALTZ~! AHAHA~!

HUH?! {Rolls eyes, sees they dodged everything and him out of seat ammo} BAH! FINE! LET'S SEE HOW YOU'LL HANDLE THIS SHALL WE?

{ Start playing a mad insane rapid ballad; Summons female Goob, Hammer and Oozer ballet dancers.}

Luigi & Daisy: {Figure out the puzzle to defeat them; they regretfully Slam/Paddle them all; promising they will release them after all of this is resolved.}

{AGROOGAH! THANG!!! }

Amadeus Wolfgeist: AAAACH!!! {Eyes pop-out in suspense as his jaw drops; shakes head; head blows like a volcano; Face then morphs into an angry wolf that howls and snarls } T-THAT TEARS IT!!!!! {Possesses his piano; becoming one with it; resemble Grand Hammer of Pop n Music fame or a Mad Piano from Super Mario 64; More Grand Hammer than Mad Piano, though! } LET'S SEE HOW YOU LIKE BEING BLOWN UP BUB!!! AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA~! {pulls out bombs from one of his now ginormous phantom hand and plays ominous notes with the other}

Luigi & Daisy: {Figure out the puzzle to defeat him also; they shamefully Slam, Paddle the now insane, piano morphed pianist until his piano shell is obliterated once more!}

Amadeus Wolfgeist: {Enraged becomes wolf-like; bellows explosive musical notes at the Real Tango Tanglers; astonished; attempts to wrangle them with his elastic hands/claws }

Princess Daisy Wildflower: Man! Melody never mentioned that her cousin was such a feral hot-head! {As if on cue, her 3DTERROR rings; swiftly answers it} Melody? Muse? What's going on? We've got trouble on our end! {Luigi tackles her to evade Feral Amadeus's attacks.} Is Evershade ok? Anything wrong with our friends here?

Melody Pianissima: {British accent} Evershade fine Daisy, darling! It's you, Shriek Alps and Amadeus I'm worried about! Oh! I hope those rapscallions didn't get to him! {her boyfriend, Muse pats her hand in comfort}

Luigi Mario: Funny, you should-a mention that! WAAAH! {He and Daisy jump, into onto one lower balcony levels; avoiding a nipping and head ramming Feral Amadeus! }

Amadeus Wolfgeist: ARROOO-GRAAH! BACK COME DOWN HERETHER! SO, I CAN RIP YOU LIMB FROM LIMB!!!

Muse Channelwatts: {The male orange poltergeist seems to be in quite of a shock so is Melody!} Zounds! They've duped him already! The fiends! Listen. Elvin did in fact call you, but odd reasons couldn't reach your signal onto this floor. So, he contacted us and here we are.

Luigi & Daisy: AAAAAH! {hold each other}

Amadeus Wolfgeist: { finds they're hiding their hiding spot} AHA! FOUND YOU ZWEI COWARDS! NOW TIME FOR YOU TO P-M-Melody?

Melody Pianissima: AMADEUS WOLFGEIST! W-WHAT IN EVERSHADE VALLEY WERE YOU THINKING?! {Huff} Sweet cousin of mine. They're telling the truth!

Muse Channelwatts: Indeed! Just look at Luigi and Daisy. Does it look like they harbor fangs or are see through like us? Their eyes are the same hue, blue for DarkMoon's sake!

Amadeus Wolfgeist: ! {Glances at them and then recalls seeing the WANTED posters of them; long face palms; reverts to normal} DAK! Oh, I’m so VERY SORRY! I really HAD though you were working for those villains!

Luigi & Daisy: {Shake their heads as in “no way, Jose”! }

Luigi Mario: Why would-a we? They hate our-a guts! Captured my-a brother!

Amadeus Wolfgeist: And now they plan to stick you for the blame they’re causing by sending imposters in your own images! I, Amadeus Wolfgeist want to make amends by helping you! I also believe you might have ran into Kruller and thus, teamed up with you. I overheard his voice earlier. I only hope Clem; our youngest brother is doing ok down there in the Boilerworks of B2. First, let’s get your friend out of his painting!

Prose

Appearance

Amadeus is an elegantly dressed purple ghost bearing an appearance to that of a normal pianist. He has silver, almost gray hair that is mostly straight except for the back of his hair. Like all ghosts in the game, he has no pupils. When he is angry, his previously mentioned straight hair unravels into a mess, and flames seem to appear.

Battle

Luigi finds an unmanned piano playing, as well as one of the Toads' portraits on the stage. He attempts to get on the stage, but Amadeus Wolfgeist appears and, upon noticing Luigi, briefly gets mildly annoyed at his presence and proceeds to rapidly play the piano to scare Luigi off the stage, smirking once he did so. Upon seeing that Luigi evaded his chair attack, he will express displeasure before resuming playing the piano to summon ballerina Goobs. After the Goobs are defeated, he then lashes out, smashing his piano, and proceeds to confront Luigi personally by possessing his piano.

The first phase requires that the player dodge various levitating seats as Amadeus is playing the piano. It is done in sets of three, though in the final portion, all six remaining sets are levitated and thrown.

The second phase requires the player to confront Goobs posing as ballerinas. Two Goobs appear initially. As they are wearing ballet masks, they are initially immune to the flash, requiring that the player knock them off before flashing them and sucking them in. Amadeus Wolfgeist will then summon three more, with the rest of the phase requiring defeating them.

The third phase has Luigi fight Amadeus Wolfgeist himself. He will hop around inside his piano, eventually opening himself up and leaving him vulnerable to a Strobulb flash. Once blinded, Amadeus will move his piano to the stage and launch bombs at Luigi. Luigi must then throw a bomb into the piano lid, causing it to tip over to allow Luigi to use the Suction Shot at it and then forcibly yank it onto the floor; the piano will collapse the third time Luigi does this. After being extracted from the piano, Amadeus will be exposed and try to grab or burn the player, although he can easily be stunned with the Strobulb and then sucked in. He then repossesses the piano and will launch a barrage of piano keys (how many shots depending on how much health he has lost by that point), though he otherwise has the same attack pattern. Once he is defeated, he will formally bow before letting himself be sucked in. Luigi will then retrieve both the sixth floor button as well as freeing Toad by using the Dark-Light Device, with Polterpup activating the steps to allow Luigi up.

• During the first phase, the music Amadeus plays on the piano is very similar to Ludwig van Beethoven's piano song Moonlight Sonata.
